Total Access - Bridge Inspections

The bridge examination team within our Inspection Department has an enviable track record working nationally for civil, structural and consulting engineers.

Rail Structure ExaminationsRail
Rail infrastructure bridges and viaducts can provide an array of access problems. As the majority of structures on the network were designed and built prior to the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations in 1994 and 2007, a safe method of access for inspection and other maintenance work was rarely taken into consideration. That combined with the inherant problem of these structures being located away from vehicular access often proves impractical and costly for most access techniques available.

With over 15 years experience working with Network Rail and its agents, we are able to provide an examination compliant with RT/CE/S/017 while minimising cost and disruption to the rail network and other infrastructures around it.

Highways Structure ExaminationsHighway
As with the rail network, the highway's structures posses unique access difficulties and the hazards associated with these. Together with the hazard of working at height, there are other hazards, such as confined entry into voids or spaces and working over or near water, that require risk mitigation during risk assessment. With the ability not only to provide a thorough examination but also a complete safe system of work including traffic management, confined entry procedures and waterborne fast rescue craft compliant with the MCA rescue boat code, we can operate as a 'one stop shop' for bridge inspections.
